My Life

You know I started life
As a single solitary cell,
And after multiplying
Into a little baby, I grew well.
A little girl I became
With dolls, toys and such,
But the very thing I wanted
You could never touch.
It was my Mother's arms
To hold me when I was sad.
She left when I was small,
I grew up with my Dad.
When I was a teen
I needed her a lot,
Because I felt alone
And pain was all I got.
But somehow I got through it
And met a man I loved.
Things were going great
Until I got hit and shoved.
Three children and twenty years later
I was out the door,
My heart and spirit were broken,
I just couldn't take any more.
But then I met another,
Very kind, loving and sweet;
Who healed my heart and soul'
He is the one I'll keep.
Now I wake up each morning
With a song in my heart,
I have my Prince Charming,
And we never more will part.
